EVP - Electronic Voice Phenomena/Phenomenon are "spirit voices" that are said to manifest themselves on audio recordings (from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

Hi, I am Brenda, and my husband, Larry, and are EVP researchers from Indiana.  The movie, White Noise, intrigued us.  And after the show we thought, why not do a little investigating of our own?  So, we began in earnest in the spring of 2006 to record EVP's.  We were thrilled when we captured our first EVP (our very first time trying to record them) from Oak Hill Cemetery.  Larry and I have to admit that we both were skeptics at first, but there is nothing like capturing one to make you into a believer!

The majority of our EVP's have been recorded in our bedroom by me. We have been in our new house for nearly three years.  The first thing that happened, not long after we moved in, was entering our kitchen to find our breadmaker moved away from the wall by about a foot and with the lid up (this occured overnight).  One time I was doing dishes and a plastic cup on the sink moved about four inches towards the dishwater.  And one night, I awoke and the bedroom was pitch black (yeah, like Sylvia Browne, I have to sleep with the nightlight on...:)).  My first thought was that the bulb had burned out, and I quickly got out of bed to turn on the ceiling light.  As I was reaching for the light switch, the nightlight came back on and continued to stay on. 

Recent happenings -

Our stereo in the living room comes on frequently.  And the bathroom light came on just before I was about to flip the wall switch.  While dining at a local restaurant, I felt something pull down firmly on a small section of my long hair, just at the bottom.  At first, I accused Larry of doing it.  We were standing in line at the time, waiting to pay for our meal, and he was about a foot behind me.  He denied it (I asked him twice just to make sure).  After it happened, I immediately recalled that when we were eating our meal earlier, I had told Larry that the place probably had ghosts, because of all the old, balck and white pictures hanging on the walls.  The hair pulling startled me at the time, but it wasn't scary.  I like to think that whatever it was, was just being playful, letting me know that I was right about the restaurant having ghosts...or at least one anyways.

And where we previously lived, the light would go off in the bathroom quite often.  Our television would sometimes come on and go off by itself.  This would happen to our stereo, too.  After placing something in our kitchen sink, I returned back to the kitchen table and picked up a bottle of garlic powder.  The garlic powder gushed all over the table...something had turned the bottle upside down.  After retiring one night, I was still awake when something punched the side of the mattress near my head.  Larry was lying on the couch resting and felt something pull his arm down towards the floor.   And I awoke one morning to hear what sounded like fairly loud, static/popping noises above Larry who was asleep at the time.  One of our daughters was in the bathroom and thought one of us had knocked on the door, but we didn't.  We weren't into recording EVP's at the other house or we would have probably would have picked some up.
